Lee's Chainsaw Art

I'm Lee Cox. Welcome to my web page and my new home on the web. Please be sure to change your URLs as the old page won't exist by this summer.

I'm happy to showcase my work for you and hope you enjoy your time browsing my site. There's a lot to see, so do come back as often as you can. I have much more art to post.

About me? I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina that I love dearly. Every morning when I wake up, I look out my living room window and thank the Good Lord for another day and that I have such a beautiful view. The mountains could be a painting on the wall but they are my landscape.

I've been carving since around 1990. One day I saw a fellow on the side of the road carving, and thought, If he can do it, so can I.  I went out bought a chainsaw, found some wood and started carving. I wasn't too bad for a beginner, but my first pieces didn't turn out perfect either. It took time to master my trade and my speed.

Later, I teamed up with that guy from the side of the road and he taught me some of the tricks he'd learned -- smarter cuts which made for a faster and better finished product.

It's nice to be able to work at a trade you love and that wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for my wife. She works the outside job so that I can stay home and carve. As long as I can carve and be the househusband, she's okay with it. Thank you love bug. She's also an author and maintains my website as well as other websites, so check her and her writing out at http://www.kimcox.org

Again, thank you for stopping by and come back again.
